My knitted bag project is coming along well. I've finished the first side of the bag and only need to repeat the front side as the back and knit the gusset. I've also have been thinking of lining the bag with some cotton fabric; I just need to find some. Boston seems to be rather lacking in fabric stores.

Emily--it's beautiful! Your handbag is going to look like a snowflake! Really, you could just keep going and have a whole snowflake...to use as a...placemat? Anyway, it looks great. I think you're better at reading/following directions than I am. Or more patient, or something.
By the way, what color is the yarn you're using? It looks black/purple on my screen.
The color is a deep purple and is the Ultra Alpaca blend from Berroco.
Also, what I didn't mention is that this was the product of my second attempt of knitting the front part after I messed something up too great and ended up frogging the entire thing about one-third of the way done.
